The education fraternity has been thrown into mourning following the death of Hellen Naututu Omoka, a respected educationist who served as principal of Bunyore Girls High School, Butere Girls High School and Kericho Teachers Training College (TTC).

Omoka’s passing marks a sad moment for the education community, particularly those who worked alongside her and the learners whose educational journeys were shaped during her time in leadership.
Throughout her career, she served in different institutions, taking up the responsibility of guiding schools and a teacher training college at a time when leadership, discipline and commitment to learning remained central to the education sector.
Her service at Bunyore Girls and Butere Girls, two institutions with an important place in the region’s education landscape, forms part of her professional legacy. She also led Kericho Teachers Training College, where her role extended to the preparation of future teachers.
For former colleagues, students and members of the wider education fraternity, her death is a moment to reflect on the people who dedicate their working lives to shaping education and nurturing future generations.
As the education community comes to terms with the loss, Omoka will be remembered for the leadership positions she held and the contribution she made to the institutions she served.
May her family, friends, former colleagues and all those who knew her find strength and comfort during this difficult time.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
