Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo, through his representative Frederick Lusuli Ikana, joined mourners in paying tribute to the late Bullfighter CID by extending financial and logistical support to his family during the funeral.

Addressing mourners, Hon. Ikana announced that PS Omollo had facilitated the payment of mortuary bills, purchased the coffin, catered for the transportation of the body and mourners from Kakamega Funeral Home, and provided clothing for the deceased.

In addition, the PS and Hon. Ikana offered financial support to the bereaved family. The widow received KSh100,000, CID’s mother KSh100,000, each of his children KSh50,000, and his sister KSh50,000. They also gave KSh5,000 to the caretaker of Shakahola and KSh20,000 to Shakahola Bullfighting fans.
Hon. Ikana further informed mourners that Elsie Muhanda had contributed KSh10,000, which was handed over to the family.
During his address, Hon. Ikana urged Bullfighters to form self-help groups to enable him to coordinate empowerment programmes aimed at supporting and improving the livelihoods of young people involved in the sport.

He also announced, together with Mr. Shida, an aide to PS Omollo, that a Bullfighting event would be organised in memory of the late CID. The event is expected to be attended by PS Omollo, who was described by speakers as one of Shakahola’s strongest supporters.
The late CID died two weeks ago under unclear circumstances. While the exact cause of his death has not been officially established, some reports have claimed that he had allegedly gone to steal a cow in Chavakali before the incident. Those claims remain unverified, and authorities have not publicly confirmed them.
