St. Mary’s Mumias Girls High School once again demonstrated its commitment to academic excellence, discipline, and holistic education during the Kakamega Diocesan Education Day held under the stewardship of the Bishop of Kakamega Diocese, Rt. Rev. Bishop Joseph Obanyi Sagwe.

In his keynote address, Bishop Obanyi challenged students across the diocese to uphold integrity in all aspects of their lives and remain focused on their academic pursuits. He strongly urged learners to shun school unrest and instead embrace dialogue and constructive engagement when addressing challenges within their institutions. The Bishop reminded students that not all demands can be met and encouraged them to adopt mature and peaceful methods of resolving disputes. He also cautioned young people against social vices that threaten moral and spiritual values.
The event celebrated outstanding academic performance among diocesan schools. St. Peter’s Seminary emerged as the overall best-performing school, followed by St. Mary’s Girls Mumias High School in second position, while St. Anne’s Nzoia secured third place.

Among girls’ schools in the diocese, St. Mary’s Mumias Girls High School emerged as the undisputed leader, reaffirming its status as the premier girls’ institution in the region. The school recorded exemplary achievements, taking first position in English, Chemistry, and Computer Studies, while also securing second position in Home Science.
Beyond academics, St. Mary’s continued to exemplify its commitment to faith and service by emerging as the leading contributor in the Diocesan Lenten Campaign, a reflection of the school’s strong Catholic values and spirit of generosity.

The remarkable achievements are a testament to the dedication of the Board of Management, administration, teachers, parents, and students whose collective efforts continue to propel the school to greater heiheights

As the institution celebrates these milestones, St. Mary’s Girls Mumias High School remains steadfast in its mission of nurturing academically excellent, morally upright, and socially responsible young women ready to make a positive impact in society.
