Residents of Matungu Constituency are set to witness another major milestone in the constituency’s development agenda as the newly constructed ultra-modern Matungu Location Chief’s Office at Eshiakula Market is officially commissioned on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
The commissioning ceremony is expected to bring together national and county government officials, local administrators, elected leaders, opinion leaders and residents in an event that marks a significant investment in strengthening government administration at the grassroots level.
The modern administrative facility is expected to improve the delivery of public services by providing a conducive and well-equipped working environment for the area chief and other government officers. The office will also enhance coordination between the national government administration and members of the public, making it easier for residents to access essential government services closer to their homes.
The project has been championed by Matungu Member of Parliament Peter Oscar Nabulindo whose development agenda has focused on improving public infrastructure across the constituency. According to area leaders, the completion of the Chief’s Office demonstrates the MP’s continued commitment to promoting efficient governance and ensuring that residents benefit from quality public facilities.
Speaking ahead of the commissioning, local leaders noted that modern administrative offices play a critical role in enhancing government operations by creating a professional environment where public officers can effectively serve wananchi. They added that the facility will support the efficient handling of government programs, public participation, conflict resolution, security coordination, civil registration services and other administrative functions carried out at the location level.
Residents have welcomed the project, expressing optimism that the new office will improve service delivery while reducing the inconveniences previously experienced due to inadequate office space and limited administrative facilities.
