The education fraternity in Busia County is mourning the sudden death of Madam Alice Kwamboka, a teacher at Nambale Urban Comprehensive School, who collapsed and died on Friday while accompanying her daughter to Kolanya Girls National School.
According to reports, Madam Kwamboka had escorted her daughter back to school as students resumed learning after the midterm break. While at the school, she reportedly complained of feeling unwell and excused herself to rest.
Moments later, she collapsed inside the school’s toilets. Despite efforts to assist her, she was pronounced dead, leaving family members, colleagues, students and friends in shock.
Madam Kwamboka was a respected teacher who served in several schools across Busia County, particularly within Nambale Sub-county, where she was widely admired for her dedication to education and mentorship.
Her sudden passing has sparked grief across the county, with many expressing concern over the increasing number of unexpected deaths being reported in recent months.
Leaders, fellow teachers and members of the public have continued to send messages of condolence to her family, praying for strength and comfort during this difficult time.
The cause of her death has not yet been officially confirmed, and authorities are expected to provide further information after the necessary investigations.
