Friends Kaimosi Girls High School in Hamisi Sub-county, Vihiga County, held a colorful dedication ceremony for the 2025 KCSE candidates. The event brought together clergy from the Friends Church (Quakers), members of the Board of Management (BOM), teachers, and parents to pray for and bless the candidates as they prepare for their national examinations.
The school’s Chief Principal, Mrs. Rose A. Shavisha, opened her speech with heartfelt gratitude to God for the gift of life and the opportunity to gather as a community.
“I am happy that our good Lord has enabled us to present the 2025 candidates before Him today for dedication as they prepare to sit for their final exams,” she said. “When you joined this school four years ago, you had a vision for yourself. We have prepared you well, given you the best content, supported you dearly, and today we dedicate you to the Lord. We only ask God to give you wisdom to remember everything your teachers have taught you so that you may succeed.”

Quoting Joshua 3:5, Mrs. Shavisha urged the students to sanctify themselves before God, assuring them that the Lord would do wonders in their lives. She also commended her teachers for their tireless dedication and hard work.
“Our teachers have spent so much time preparing you. You have been guided, supported, and mentored. Nothing should worry you,” she added.
In a message directed to parents, the Principal expressed deep appreciation for their sacrifice and support.

“First, I want to thank your parents for being parents and for choosing to bring you to Kaimosi Girls. They have sacrificed everything for your education and provided everything you needed. Do not let them down,” she said.
Mrs. Shavisha reminded the students of the school’s strong academic legacy and encouraged them to uphold the tradition of excellence.
“We have told you before that you can become anything you want in life. This is the perfect time to make your dreams a reality. We expect many of you to attain grades above the university entry mark of C+ and even surpass our target mean score of 7.5,” she said.
The Deputy Principal, Madam Grace Omakwe, commended the candidates for their discipline and good behavior throughout their time in school.
“We have had minimal cases of indiscipline from this class, and that is commendable. The teachers have done their part and prepared you thoroughly. Do not worry; remain focused and everything will be well,” she advised.
Mrs. Jacinta Chavangi, a teacher at the school, expressed confidence in the students’ readiness for the exams.
“We have prepared our 2025 candidates thoroughly. We have done extensive revision and practical sessions, especially in the sciences. We are optimistic that this class will make us proud,” she said.

She also praised the Chief Principal for her supportive leadership.
“Our Principal has been very supportive. She is a mother figure to both teachers and students. The unity and synergy among the girls are exceptional, and they are ready for the exams,” Mrs. Chavangi added.
This will be the first class that Mrs. Shavisha presents for the national examinations since taking over as the Head of Institution (HOI) of Friends Kaimosi Girls.
One of the candidates, Hadassa Morrah, spoke on behalf of her classmates, expressing gratitude to the administration and teaching staff.
“Our Principal is a hands-on leader. She has supported us in every way, and our teachers have worked tirelessly to prepare us for the exams and boost our confidence. We also thank our parents for providing us with all the materials we needed, including geometrical sets and other supplies,” she said.

“I want to assure the public that, given our level of preparedness, we are ready to sit for the exams and perform exceptionally well,” she added confidently.
The clergy from the Friends Church prayed over the candidates, urging them to remain steadfast, focused, and faithful.
“You are the Alliance of Vihiga — blessed with dedicated teachers, excellent facilities, and a rich spiritual foundation at the heart of the Friends Church in Kenya. We expect nothing but the best from you,” the clergy declared.
The ceremony ended with songs of joy, laughter, and heartfelt prayers for success as the school community reaffirmed its commitment to excellence.
Long live Friends Kaimosi Girls High School.
