St. Joseph’s Girls High School, Kitale (JOGA), has continued to stamp its authority at the ongoing Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) National Championships at M-PESA Foundation Academy in Thika, delivering a breathtaking all-round performance across multiple disciplines.
The Rift Valley giants thrilled fans on Day Two with commanding victories in football, basketball, rugby sevens, lacrosse and cricket, reinforcing their reputation as one of the country’s finest sporting institutions.
In Soccer, JOGA produced one of the biggest wins of the tournament, dismantling Kiaritha Girls 14-0 in a ruthless display of attacking football. The emphatic victory underlined the team’s championship credentials and sent a strong warning to their rivals.
The school’s Basketball team also maintained its perfect run, edging Cardinal Otunga 16-9 before overcoming Asumbi 13-10 in a closely contested encounter. JOGA completed a remarkable hat-trick of victories with a hard-fought 10-8 win over Buruburu Girls.
JOGA’s Rugby Sevens side (7s) was equally impressive, overpowering Mwatate Girls 36-0 before shutting out Sigoti Girls 12-0 to remain unbeaten in the competition.
The school’s dominance extended to Lacrosse, where the girls swept aside Khalaba 17-6 before recording emphatic victories over Embakasi (30–2) and Moi Girls (29-2), showcasing exceptional skill, speed and teamwork.
In Cricket, JOGA began the day with a convincing 86-44 triumph over Arya Girls before narrowly falling 47-46 to Mwangaza in a thrilling contest that went down to the final moments.
The outstanding performances have placed St. Joseph’s Girls Kitale among the standout schools at this year’s national championships, with the institution demonstrating remarkable depth across different sporting disciplines.
School officials attributed the success to discipline, teamwork, quality coaching and unwavering determination from the players, expressing confidence that the teams will continue their impressive run as the championship progresses.
