Bokoli Boys are the new kings of Western Region schools rugby after producing a commanding performance to defeat Butula Boys 14-0 and clinch the 2026 Western Region Rugby Sevens Championship at Bungoma High School.
The highly anticipated final attracted a huge crowd as two of the region’s rugby powerhouses battled for supremacy. However, Bokoli Boys proved too strong, displaying exceptional teamwork, tactical discipline and clinical finishing to keep Butula Boys scoreless throughout the contest.
The emphatic victory saw Bokoli Boys crowned the 2026 Western Region Rugby Sevens champions, capping off an outstanding tournament in which they remained one of the most dominant sides.
Despite the defeat, Butula Boys also earned plenty of praise for their spirited campaign, with both finalists securing qualification to the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) National Rugby Sevens Championships.
The triumph sparked jubilant celebrations among Bokoli Boys players, coaches and supporters, who now shift their focus to the national stage with hopes of extending their remarkable run.
