My Savior High School in Matungu Sub-county has emerged as one of the top academic performers in the region after posting impressive results in the recently released Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) 2026 examinations.
The private institution, which has steadily built a reputation for academic excellence, recorded a mean score of 7.8246. Out of the 58 candidates who sat the examination, 57 attained the minimum university entry grade of C+ and above, a performance that has placed the school at the forefront of academics in Matungu Sub-county, where many schools registered below-average results.
The school director, Mr Collins Kokonya, attributed the outstanding performance to deliberate and well-coordinated strategies focused on both students and teachers.

He cited early syllabus coverage, teamwork among staff, frequent exposure to external examinations, disciplined learners, and strong parental support as the key pillars behind the success.
“We completed the syllabus by March and immediately embarked on intensive revision. We also invited external speakers who guided our students on proper examination techniques and how to approach questions in the exam room,” Mr Kokonya said.
He added that his passion for education has driven him to create a conducive learning environment, noting that academic excellence cannot thrive in a hostile setting.

“I motivate my teachers and support them fully. When teachers feel valued, they go the extra mile, and that reflects in the students’ performance,” he said.
Namukhula Florence Watako emerged as the top student in the school, posting an impressive B+ grade, with the majority of candidates attaining a B- grade.
Notably, Mathematics emerged as the best-performed subject, an achievement that has surprised many, given the subject’s reputation as one of the most challenging at the national level.
Mr Kokonya reaffirmed the school’s commitment to producing well-rounded and competent citizens.

“Our vision is to nurture future professionals who will positively impact society. I look forward to seeing our alumni become doctors, lawyers, engineers, and leaders of tomorrow,” he said.
The school is already looking ahead, with the 2026 candidate class close to completing syllabus coverage and preparing for revision.
Management has also expressed optimism about admitting a strong intake of Grade 10 students in the coming weeks, expressing confidence that My Savior High School will continue to dominate academic performance in the region.
