NCIC noted that the process of appointing county coordinators is ongoing, with announcements expected in due course. The commission also thanked outgoing coordinators for their dedication and selfless service in advancing the objectives of Amani Clubs.

Speaking to the media, National Chairman Mr Kennedy Kunani said the clubs are intensifying their engagement with schools and government agencies to prepare young people for peaceful participation ahead of the 2027 General Election.
“Our clubs are working closely with schools and relevant institutions to educate students on peace, tolerance, and responsible citizenship. We want to equip young people with conflict-resolution skills and ethical leadership values so that non-violence and unity prevail in our country,” he said.
Mr Kunani also unveiled the 2026 Debating for Peace Programme (Kenya Edition) calendar, which includes:
- 17–18 January 2026: Judges’ Training
- By 7 February 2026: Sub-county Championships
- By 7 March 2026: County Championships
- 7–12 April 2026: National Championships
He called on partners and stakeholders to support the programme, noting that preparations are also underway for the East African Debate to be held in Kigali, Rwanda, in August 2026.
The chairman further observed that the clubs’ peace education efforts are especially critical following last year’s Saba Saba demonstrations, during which several lives were lost, highlighting the continued need for structured peace-building initiatives among the youth.
With new leadership in place and expanded programmes across schools nationwide, Amani Clubs are poised to play a key role in strengthening social cohesion and nurturing a generation of responsible, peace-oriented leaders.
