There was pomp and colour at Joysil Preparatory School in Matungu as the institution celebrated its 2025 Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) candidates during a vibrant ceremony attended by education stakeholders, parents, and guests.
The event was graced by Mr Calstus Muyiomi, Director at the Ministry of Gender, Culture and Children Services; Mrs Felistus Wamere, TSC official,and renowned educator Madam Selpha Omondi.
Mr Muyiomi thanked the school management for inviting him to officiate at the event, noting that he was impressed by the learning environment and overall organisation.

He praised the pioneer Competency-Based Education (CBE) class for posting exceptional results and placing the school firmly on the academic map.
“You have walked a path no one had walked before. You are a special class in the history of this country, and I commend you for clearing the bushes and setting the pace for those coming after you,” he said.
As the learners transition to senior school, Mr Muyiomi encouraged them to commit their plans to God and remain good ambassadors of Joysil Preparatory School in their new institutions, adding that follow-ups would be conducted to track their progress.

Mrs Felistus Wamere lauded the pioneer CBE class for its stellar performance in the KJSEA examinations and commended the school directors for putting in place effective measures that have created a conducive learning environment.
She urged parents to continue supporting their children’s education to the highest level possible, expressing satisfaction with the strong performance of Joysil learners.
Madam Selpha Omondi noted that she was impressed by the number of Grade 9 candidates who had secured admission to premier C1 senior schools.

She reminded the learners that a good name is more valuable than wealth and encouraged them to establish a strong alumni body that would support and contribute to the growth of their former school.
The school head teacher, Mr Francis Ikee, thanked parents for their unwavering support and commended teachers for their dedication and tireless efforts.
He also praised the learners for their exemplary discipline, which he said had contributed significantly to the outstanding results. Clare Manyasi emerged as the top student, scoring an impressive 71 out of 72 points.

School director Mr Angoye Sylvester expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their invaluable support. In a show of appreciation and motivation, he awarded cash prizes to nearly all candidates, as well as to teaching and support staff. He further announced a salary increment for staff as part of efforts to motivate his team.
Joysil Preparatory School has consistently posted strong academic results over the years, a record that has driven its rapid growth and reputation in the region. The institution is now regarded as one of the most sought-after schools in Matungu.
Mr Angoye also revealed plans to introduce a senior school in the future, further expanding the school’s academic offerings.
