There was pomp and colour at Goibei Girls’ High School on Saturday as the institution dedicated its 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates.
The colourful event brought together parents, the Board of Management (BOM), teachers, and students to celebrate faith, unity, and academic commitment.
The ceremony was presided over by Rev. Henry Juma, overseer of the PAG Goibei District, who delivered a message of encouragement from the General Superintendent of PAG Church, Rev. Dr. Kenneth Adiara.

With the theme “Unique Sacrifice, Unique Results,” more than 588 candidates pledged to work hard and uphold the school’s tradition of strong academic performance.
“Our school has a rich history of excellence, and we cannot afford to disappoint it. To our parents, thank you for paying our school fees and always being there for us,” said the outgoing head student.
Principal’s Reflections
Chief Principal Dr. Rose Koech was praised for transforming Goibei Girls’ into a centre of excellence. She assured the gathering that the school’s target mean grade of 8.5 is achievable.

Dr. Koech expressed gratitude to God and the parents for their support throughout her six years at the school. She also sought reconciliation with the parents over any past misunderstandings.
“Kindly find it in your hearts to forgive us, especially where we may have pushed too hard on fees or other issues. Let us reason together for the sake of our girls,” she said.
She further urged parents not to compare their daughters with others, assuring them that their children would make them proud. Reflecting on her impending exit at the end of the year, Dr. Koech said she was proud to leave behind a strong academic and co-curricular legacy.
Messages of Encouragement
Board of Management chairperson Prof. Solomon Shibairo called on parents to remain prayerful, quoting from 1 Thessalonians 5:16–20.

“When we pray, God hears, and when He hears, He answers. As we dedicate our girls before the Lord, I am certain we will emerge victorious,” he said.
In his message relayed through Rev. Juma, Rev. Dr. Kenneth Adiara praised the school for nurturing students in discipline and faith. He encouraged the candidates to remain devoted, hardworking, and confident, assuring them of God’s protection.
Rev. Juma, on his part, challenged students to cultivate mental strength, discipline, and faith in God.
“Authority comes from faith, and faith comes from the Word. That Word declares you victors,” he said, urging parents to continue praying for their daughters.

Looking Ahead
Form Four class teachers described the 2025 candidates as one of the most promising groups in the school’s history.
“We understand that an ‘A’ grade has been elusive for years, but we are determined to break that ceiling. This class will deliver a mean score never before achieved at Goibei Girls’ and record the school’s first ‘A’ grade as a tribute to our outgoing principal,” they said.
The dedication ended with a rallying call for the candidates to embrace prayer and focus: “Why worry when you can pray? Victory is ours.”
