Mumias West Member of Parliament Hon. Johnson Manya Naicca alias “Mbuyu” has reaffirmed his commitment to transforming education in the constituency after donating a brand-new 52-seater school bus to Ichinga Muslim Secondary School in a colourful ceremony attended by education officials, school principals, religious leaders, local administrators, parents, students and members of the public.

The donation marks another milestone in the legislator’s ambitious education development agenda aimed at improving learning infrastructure and creating equal opportunities for students across Mumias West.
Speaking during the event, Hon. Naicca, commended the school’s principal, Mr. Kassim Murenga, for his exemplary leadership and prudent management that has seen Ichinga Muslim Secondary School grow into one of the leading institutions in the constituency.
“I congratulate Principal Kassim Murenga for steering this school in the right direction. His dedication and sound leadership have made Ichinga Muslim a preferred institution attracting students from different parts of Mumias West and beyond. Such commitment deserves support,” said Naicca.

The MP noted that the school’s expanding enrolment and impressive academic progress informed his decision to provide the institution with a school bus, saying the vehicle will significantly improve students’ mobility during educational tours, co-curricular activities, academic exchange programmes and national competitions.
“Ichinga Muslim is one of the schools attracting learners from across the constituency. This bus will ease transportation challenges and expose our students to more learning opportunities beyond the classroom. My vision when I established this school nearly a decade ago remains alive, and I will continue investing in its growth until it becomes one of the best schools in the country,” he stated.

Hon. Naicca also challenged parents to complement the government’s investment in education by paying school fees on time, noting that sustainable school programmes require collective responsibility.
“My administration has invested heavily in education through bursaries, infrastructure and learning facilities. I now appeal to parents to play their role by paying school fees promptly because schools cannot effectively run their programmes without adequate financial support,” he said.
Receiving the bus, Principal Mr. Kassim Murenga expressed profound gratitude to the legislator, describing the donation as a historic milestone that will transform the institution’s operations.

He observed that since its establishment by Hon. Naicca almost ten years ago, the school has experienced remarkable growth owing to the MP’s consistent investment in classrooms, learning facilities and bursary support for needy students.
“This school is a product of Hon. Naicca’s vision. He has stood with us from the beginning through infrastructure development, bursaries and now the donation of a modern school bus. We are deeply grateful and remain committed to delivering quality education that justifies his confidence in us,” said Murenga.
The principal pledged that the school would continue working closely with stakeholders to achieve academic excellence while supporting development initiatives geared towards improving education standards in Mumias West.

Mumias West KESSHA Chairman Mr. Asman Osieko also lauded the MP for prioritising education, describing him as one of the constituency’s greatest champions of learning.
“We appreciate Hon. Naicca for the tremendous work he continues to do in supporting schools. His investments in infrastructure, bursaries and transport facilities are creating a conducive environment for quality education. These are projects whose impact will be felt for generations,” Osieko remarked.
Hon. Naicca further unveiled a series of upcoming education projects, revealing that his administration plans to donate school buses to Ingusi Secondary School and Bumia Girls High School, establish a new secondary school in the Bumanyi area and undertake major infrastructure development at St. Vincent Butende Secondary School.
He reiterated that education remains the greatest equaliser and the surest path to transforming the lives of young people.
“Education is the greatest catalyst for a better life. The people of Mumias West elected me to serve them, and I will continue investing in schools because the future of our constituency depends on the education of our children. As long as I remain your Member of Parliament, education development will remain my top priority,” he affirmed.
Students at Ichinga Muslim Secondary School could not hide their excitement as they welcomed the new 52-seater bus, saying it would make travel for academic contests, sports competitions and educational trips more comfortable and efficient.

The donation further cements Hon. Johnson Manya Naicca’s reputation as one of the region’s strongest advocates for education, with his sustained investment in school infrastructure, bursaries and learning resources continuing to reshape the educational landscape of Mumias West.
