Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi has fulfilled a pledge to Bungoma D.E.B. School by donating a bus to the institution, in a move expected to ease transport challenges and support learning activities.

The donation is the culmination of a commitment Wanyonyi made during the school’s 2025 Grade 9 Prayer Day, when he pledged to sponsor the best-performing learners throughout their secondary school education.
At the beginning of this year, he honoured the promise by ensuring the learners were admitted to their respective secondary schools, giving them an opportunity to pursue their education with the support he had promised.

But the school had another pressing need.
The administration appealed to Wanyonyi to help the institution acquire a bus. Rather than make a direct promise to buy one, the MP committed to mobilising friends and well-wishers to help raise the resources needed.

Today, that effort bore fruit as Wanyonyi handed over the bus to the school, turning the administration’s appeal into reality.
The gesture reflects the impact of keeping one’s word and working with others to address the challenges facing learning institutions.
“On education, we don’t gamble or make excuses, we deliver,” Wanyonyi said, reaffirming his commitment to supporting initiatives that give learners better opportunities to succeed.

For Bungoma D.E.B. School, the bus represents more than a new vehicle. It is a boost to the school’s ability to support learning activities and participate in programmes beyond the classroom.
Wanyonyi said he remained committed to initiatives that strengthen education and open more opportunities for learners across Bungoma County.

His latest gesture sends a clear message: investing in education is not just about making promises to children, but taking practical steps to help them realise their potential.
