Kibabii University has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging that the institution has appointed a new Vice-Chancellor, describing the claims as false and misleading.

In a clarification issued by the university, the management stated that the University Council has not appointed a new Vice-Chancellor, contrary to information being shared online.
The university reaffirmed that the substantive Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Ipara Odeo, remains in office and continues to discharge his official duties.

“The University Council has not appointed a new Vice Chancellor. The current substantive Vice Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Ipara Odeo, remains in office and continues to discharge his official duties,” the statement read.

The institution urged members of the public, staff, students, alumni, and other stakeholders to disregard the rumours and rely only on official communication issued by the university.

The clarification comes amid widespread speculation on social media claiming that a new Vice-Chancellor had taken over the leadership of the institution.

University officials emphasized the importance of verifying information through official channels to avoid the spread of misinformation that could cause unnecessary confusion among stakeholders.

Kibabii University reiterated its commitment to transparency and assured its stakeholders that any significant changes in the university’s leadership would be communicated through the appropriate official platforms.
