Goibei Girls High School has announced a phased reopening plan following a temporary closure occasioned by heightened unrest that recently affected several secondary schools across the country.

In a circular issued by Chief Principal Dr. Rose Koech, the school outlined a staggered reporting schedule aimed at ensuring a smooth and orderly return to learning. Grade 10 learners will report on June 17, followed by Form Three students on June 18, while the candidate class will report on June 19.
The administration said all necessary preparations have been completed to guarantee a safe, calm and conducive learning environment for students. Parents and guardians have been urged to ensure learners report on the designated dates and are fully prepared to resume their academic programmes.

While releasing students on Monday, Dr. Koech commended the learners for maintaining a high level of discipline during a period when many schools across the country experienced unrest. She noted that Goibei Girls remained peaceful and that concerns only arose after students from neighbouring schools reportedly visited the institution questioning why Goibei learners had not joined the strikes.
The principal expressed confidence that the reopening will mark a fresh start for the students as they focus on their academic goals and the remainder of the second-term calendar. She also called for continued cooperation among students, parents, teachers and other stakeholders in maintaining discipline and safeguarding the school’s culture of excellence.

The school has further directed all learners to clear any outstanding fee balances before being admitted back to school.

Widely regarded as one of Western Kenya’s premier girls’ schools, Goibei Girls High School continues to distinguish itself through strong academic performance, discipline and excellence in co-curricular activities. The administration remains optimistic that the institution will continue on its path of success as learning resumes.
