Veteran Principal Wycliffe Mwambwa Manoa Transferred from Ramba Boys High School

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced the transfer of Senior Principal Wycliffe Mwambwa Manoa from Ramba Boys High School following recent unrest at the institution.

Dr Peter Odhier, formerly of Magunga Secondary School, has been appointed as his replacement.

A Legacy of Academic Excellence
Mr Manoa, a seasoned educator with a reputation for transformative leadership, is credited with stabilising and elevating academic standards at Ramba Boys during his three-year tenure.

Known for his hands-on approach, he prioritised discipline, teacher accountability, and student mentorship—traits that defined his previous postings.

– Emusire High School: During his 11-year leadership, the school became a national academic contender, setting records that remain unbroken.
– Sori High School: His impact was so profound that the community resisted his transfer, prompting intervention by Bondo Diocese Bishop Rt. Rev. Prof. David Kodia.
Ramba Boys: The school’s academic morale soared under his watch, with the candidate class poised for standout KCSE results.

Controversy and Unrest
The transfer follows tragic incidents at Ramba Boys, including a septic tank collapse that claimed two students’ lives and subsequent student protests. While the accident predated Mr Manoa’s tenure, it sparked tribal tensions, complicating his leadership.

A teacher (who requested anonymity) stated: “Principal Manoa was unparalleled in his dedication—he slept on the school compound, taught diligently, and never compromised on exam integrity. The backlash is unjust.”

Community Reactions
Opinions are divided. Some locals, like parent Mary Atieno, allege ethnic bias: “Non-Luo principals often face undue resistance here.” Others, however, praise Manoa’s fairness and results-driven approach.

Bishop Kodia, a key stakeholder, has consistently supported the school but has not publicly addressed the tribal allegations.

The Road Ahead
As Dr Odhier takes the helm, educators and parents await the next chapter for Ramba Boys. Meanwhile, Mr Manoa’s track record suggests he will continue to thrive despite challenges.

“Great leaders leave legacies, not just posts,” remarked a colleague. “Manoa’s impact will outlast this controversy.”
