Hamisi Member of Parliament Hon. Charles Gimose has reaffirmed his commitment to transforming the education sector by prioritizing the completion of stalled school infrastructure projects across the constituency.
Speaking during a consultative meeting with school heads and key education stakeholders, the legislator said improving learning infrastructure remains one of the most effective ways of enhancing the quality of education and creating an environment where learners can thrive.
The meeting brought together headteachers, education administrators, government officials, and NG-CDF representatives to assess the current state of educational infrastructure and identify priority areas requiring urgent intervention.
Hon. Gimose noted that many schools have experienced delays in the completion of classrooms, laboratories, administration blocks, sanitation facilities, and other critical projects, a situation he said continues to affect effective teaching and learning.
He assured stakeholders that his office, through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), will work closely with relevant government agencies to ensure all stalled projects are completed within the shortest time possible.
According to the MP, investing in quality infrastructure is not only about putting up buildings but also about providing learners with safe, modern, and conducive learning spaces that inspire academic excellence and support the implementation of the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum.
He emphasized that education remains the cornerstone of social and economic transformation, adding that every child in Hamisi deserves access to quality facilities regardless of the school’s location.
Hon. Gimose further called for stronger collaboration between school administrators, government agencies, and development partners, saying collective responsibility is essential in addressing infrastructure challenges facing schools across the constituency.
Education stakeholders welcomed the consultative approach, describing it as a timely platform for identifying pressing needs and developing practical solutions that will improve learning outcomes.
The meeting was attended by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Hamisi Sub-County Director, Mr. Phelomon Kurgat, the Deputy County Commissioners for Tiriki East and Tiriki West, the Hamisi NG-CDF Fund Manager, the Assistant County Commissioner for Tambua Ward, and officials from the NG-CDF Board.
Their participation underscored the government’s multi-agency commitment to strengthening educational infrastructure and ensuring that schools in Hamisi have the facilities needed to deliver quality education.
The consultative forum forms part of Hon. Gimose’s broader education agenda aimed at expanding access to quality learning, improving school infrastructure, and creating an enabling environment that empowers learners and teachers to achieve their full potential.
