A new leadership team has been elected to steer the affairs of the Kenya Comprehensive School Heads Association (KECSHA) in Mumias East Sub-County following a peaceful election held at Lubinu Primary School.
The exercise, which brought together heads of comprehensive schools from across the sub-county, was presided over by Regional KECSHA Chairperson Tobias Omusale, County Secretary Emmanuel Luyo, and the County Treasurer.

In one of the most closely contested races of the day, Dominic Osundwa was elected Chairperson after securing 24 votes against Isaah Matala’s 23 votes. Benson Wabuyabo emerged as the new Secretary with 26 votes, while Roselyne Auma was elected Treasurer after garnering 27 votes.
Christine Muganda won the Woman Representative seat with 26 votes, while David Nduku was elected Publicity Secretary with 24 votes.
Other officials elected include Ronald Kweyuh as Vice Chairperson with 26 votes, Mumia Were as Vice Secretary with 24 votes, Bonface Mutsoli as Vice Treasurer with 26 votes, and Ali Wanzetsa as Vice Publicity Secretary with 26 votes.
Speaking after the election, officials praised members for conducting themselves with professionalism and respect throughout the exercise. They described the polls as free, fair, and peaceful, noting that the smooth process demonstrated the unity and maturity of school heads in the sub-county.
The newly elected officials are expected to champion the interests of comprehensive schools, strengthen collaboration among education stakeholders, and provide leadership on matters affecting learning institutions in Mumias East.
School heads who attended the event expressed confidence in the new team, saying the leaders have the experience and commitment needed to advance the association’s agenda and support the continued growth of education in the region.
The peaceful conclusion of the elections was hailed as a positive step for KECSHA, setting the stage for a new chapter of leadership and service within Mumias East’s education sector.
