Former Kakamega Senator and the current UDA Secretary General, Cleophas Malala, has joined Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei in advocating for the arrest of Azimio leader Raila Odinga.

Malala argues that while many Kenyans are being arrested for committing petty crimes, it is time to hold accountable those who have been involved in economic sabotage, emphasizing that no one is above the law.

He believes that Raila Odinga should be arrested and made to answer for the consequences caused by the demonstrations he has been leading.

Malala’s statements have drawn strong reactions from various quarters, including politician Alinur Mohammed, who expressed shock at the suggestion of arresting Raila Odinga.

Mohammed firmly stated that it is a dream for anyone to think they can arrest Raila, as it is allegedly considered taboo in Kenya.

He reminded Malala that the focus should not be on Raila, but rather on addressing the issues facing the people, whom he sees as the real enemy.

In defense of Raila Odinga, Mohammed asserted that Raila has not committed any wrongdoing.

Instead, he argued that Raila has been fighting for the rights of the unheard and neglected ordinary citizens.

Mohammed warned that anyone daring enough to attempt to arrest Raila should be prepared for dire consequences.

The differing opinions on the arrest of Raila Odinga reflect the deep divisions within Kenyan politics.

Supporters of Malala and Cherargei believe that holding leaders accountable, regardless of their stature, is crucial for the progress and development of the country.

They argue that economic sabotage should not go unpunished and that no individual should be immune to the law.

On the other hand, Alinur Mohammed’s response represents a perspective held by those who view Raila Odinga as a champion of the marginalized and voiceless in society.

They believe that Raila’s demonstrations and activism are essential for highlighting the grievances of ordinary citizens and pushing for change.
