Funyula parliamentary aspirant Chris Mandu has unveiled an ambitious and transformative development agenda, pledging to prioritize economic empowerment, infrastructure development, education, and healthcare if elected Member of Parliament in next year’s General Election.
Speaking during a series of consultative meetings with residents across various parts of the constituency, Mandu said his vision is anchored on inclusive growth and sustainable development aimed at improving the livelihoods of all constituents.
Mandu emphasized that tackling unemployment, especially among the youth, will be a key priority of his leadership. He noted that many young people in Funyula face limited opportunities despite having the potential to contribute meaningfully to the economy. To address this, he plans to introduce vocational training programs, promote entrepreneurship, and create partnerships with both public and private sectors to expand job opportunities.
“Youth empowerment will be at the heart of my leadership. We must equip our young people with relevant skills and provide them with opportunities to thrive,” Mandu said.
On economic growth, the aspirant pledged to support small-scale traders and farmers, noting that they form the backbone of the local economy. He promised to lobby for increased funding, access to affordable credit, and training on modern farming techniques to boost productivity and incomes.
Infrastructure development also featured prominently in his agenda, with Mandu highlighting the need to improve road networks across the constituency. He said better roads would not only ease movement but also facilitate trade and enhance access to essential services. Additionally, he expressed commitment to advocating for improved access to clean water and reliable electricity in underserved areas.
In the education sector, Mandu promised to increase bursary allocations to support needy students and ensure that no child is left behind due to financial constraints. He also underscored the importance of improving school infrastructure and investing in digital learning to align education with modern demands.
“Education is the foundation of any progressive society. We must invest in our schools and ensure that every child has access to quality learning,” he stated.
Healthcare improvement is another pillar of his agenda. Mandu pledged to lobby for well-equipped health facilities, adequate medical personnel, and better access to essential medicines. He said his goal is to ensure residents can receive quality healthcare services within the constituency without the need to travel long distances.
The aspirant further assured residents of transparent and accountable leadership, promising to involve the community in decision-making processes and ensure equitable distribution of resources.
