At Ngairwe Senior School, the Board of Management is proving that when school leadership, stakeholders and elected leaders work together, learners are the biggest beneficiaries.

The latest testimony to the board’s effectiveness is a 51-seater school bus donated to the institution by Matungu MP Hon. Peter Oscar Nabulindo.

For the Ngairwe BOM, the bus is more than a vehicle. It is an investment in the school’s academic programmes, co-curricular activities, administration and the wider community.

And when the long-awaited bus arrived in Nairobi, it was Mr. Paul Atwa, a BOM member and key stakeholder in the school, who stepped forward to receive it on behalf of the board.

Atwa’s role in the handover reflected the hands-on approach of the Ngairwe BOM, which continues to engage stakeholders in finding practical solutions to the needs facing the school.

Speaking after receiving the bus, Atwa expressed gratitude to Hon. Nabulindo for taking a special interest in the development of Ngairwe Senior School.

He said the bus would go a long way in supporting students and easing the logistical challenges that have often accompanied school programmes.

The vehicle is expected to support learners travelling for academic trips, sports competitions, educational activities and other school engagements, while also serving the institution and, where appropriate, the surrounding community.

For Atwa and his fellow BOM members, the achievement demonstrates what is possible when a school’s leadership remains focused on mobilising support for learners.

The board’s appreciation also goes to Hon. Peter Oscar Nabulindo, whose intervention has given Ngairwe Senior School an important asset that will serve generations of learners.

The Nairobi handover was therefore more than a routine transfer of a bus. It was a moment that underscored the growing partnership between Ngairwe Senior School, its BOM and the Matungu leadership.

And at the centre of that moment stood Paul Atwa — receiving the keys on behalf of a board determined to turn stakeholder support into tangible benefits for learners.

For Ngairwe, the journey has literally begun.
