My Savior High School in Matungu Sub-county of Kakamega County has solidified its status as a leading academic powerhouse following its stellar performance in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) 2024 results.
The leading mixed secondary school recorded an impressive mean of 6.75 (C+), with 23 out of 37 students scoring above the minimum university entry grade of C+ and above.
The school’s impressive mean saw over 7 students score B-(minus), 15 C+ (plus), 12 C (plain), 2 C- (minus).

Notably, only 2 students scored below the C plain grade.
The School’s Principal, Mr Bosco Wanupi expressed pride in the school’s achievements, attributing success to early syllabus coverage, dedicated teaching staff, disciplined students and support from parents and other stakeholders, not forgetting the immense contribution from the school director.
“My ultimate goal as the head of the institution is ensuring that My Savior High School remains at the helm of academics not only in Matungu but in the region,” he said.

He added, “The consistent university transition has cemented our reputation in academics as over 62 per cent of our students got direct entry grades to the university.”
He noted that the 2025 class is a very good one and that they are aiming at 100 per cent university transition owing to the level of preparedness they are going to subject the candidate class to.
“Our history is so pronounced and we are going to ride on measures that we have used before to see to it that we impress again in 2025,” he said.

Speaking to the parents during the Form Four Academic Clinic, he asked them to support the school programmes aimed at completing syllabus coverage on time by allowing the candidates to be in school all through.
“We know what our expectations are and we are not going to gamble on that. We want our learners to be in school throughout and we will only allow them only 9 days to be with you this year,” said Mr Principal.

Absenteeism, indiscipline, negligence and irresponsibility from a section of parents affect the performance. Parents were asked to provide basic requirements to avoid time wastage as they aim for a 100 per cent transition in 2025.
The school is a small haven for children from vulnerable families in Matungu and beyond.
