St Teresa’s Eregi Girls School proved its academic prowess with an outstanding performance in the 2024 KCSE examinations, despite a challenging year that saw a mysterious disease hit students.
The school posted a mean score of 5.6 with over 106 students scoring above the minimum university entry grade of C+ and above.
The School Senior Principal Madam Victoria Alukum commended the 2024 candidates, teachers and parents for their dedication and teamwork which she described as a driving force behind the impressive performance.
“It is worth noting that Eregi Girls was in the news for the better part of last year over mysterious diseases that affected a number of girls but we want to thank the stakeholders who supported us this far,” said Madam Principal.
She added, “We were greatly affected by the transfer of the students last year and I must just commend those parents who believed in us and trusted us with their girls.”
The principal avers that they have already settled down for the academic year 2025 and their synergy in the 2025 candidates class is unmatched as they have already outlined measures that will enable them to impress more in the exams.
Among the measures that the school is adopting are early syllabus coverage, more exposure to exams, benchmarking with several schools, extended timetables and motivated staff.
“We have also set a realistic target for 2025 and we are optimistic that 2025 will be a history-making class at Eregi,” she said.
