St Anne’s Girls Mumias produces Second Best Student in KCPE, Nationally

St. Anne’s Girls Boarding Primary Mumias has once again burst into glory following the impressive performance in the just released Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) 2023 results.

Jacinta Bethany Khasungu from the school emerged position two nationally scoring 427 marks after Michael Warutere who topped this year’s KCPE with 428 marks.

Speaking to members of the press at the school, Jacinta thanked the great teachers at the St Anne’s for preparing her well.

“I knew I was going to get super results though it never crept my mind that I will top the nation. I am more than delighted and I promised never to disappoint my parents and I am glad to have made them proud,” she said.

Asked about what she wants to become in future, Jacinta points to becoming a neurosurgeon and her dream school is Alliance Girls.

Speaking to the press, Sister Cyrillah Sanya the Headteacher of the school averred that, the impressive results were due to several factors that have enabled the school to impress.

“Teamwork, hard work, dedicated staff, discipline and our believe in the Supreme being is what has seen us this far. I must acknowledge the good work done by our great teachers, they have always given their best by being in class very early and leaving very late just for the sake of dear candidates,” she said.

She added, “We prepared them well and we’ve always been so close to them to realise positive results. St. Anne’s is a Catholic sponsored institution and we take spiritual matters seriously as we believe a health body and mind must work together.”

Mr Peter Guya the Parents Association chair also thanked the parents of St. Anne’s Primary Mumias for super cooperation between them and the administration that has enabled the school to remain at the pinnacle of impressive schools in the county.

“It is the parents who have supported the initiatives of this great teachers ranging from giving us students, paying of fees and supporting the school where necessary,” he said.

He added, “We had a total of 289 candidates and this 2023, has broken history as many candidates scored over 400 marks since inception of the 8-4-4 system. I want to ask parents to entrust us with their daughters in the coming years as here we mean business, we nurture girls in all aspects of life ranging from spiritual to academic and our products always stand out.”

The school will conduct interviews for new pupils in all classes on Monday of 27th November at 8.00 a.m.
