In just one and a half years at the helm of Friends School Kaimosi Girls, Chief Principal Rose Shavisa has emerged as a transformative force, redefining excellence and positioning the institution among the fastest-rising girls’ schools in Kenya.

Since taking over leadership, Mrs. Shavisa has overseen remarkable growth in student enrollment, with the population rising from approximately 800 learners to over 1,400. The impressive increase is a testament to the confidence parents and stakeholders have developed in the school’s vision, discipline, and academic direction.
Academically, Friends School Kaimosi Girls has recorded significant progress. Under her stewardship, the school registered a positive deviation in the KCSE examinations, breaking past performance barriers and producing a higher number of candidates who attained the minimum university entry grade of C+ and above. The achievement reflects a culture of hard work, consistency, and a renewed focus on academic excellence.
Beyond academics, Mrs. Shavisa has prioritized the holistic development of learners. Through mentorship programs and regular motivational talks by distinguished speakers and professionals, she has helped nurture confidence, resilience, and self-belief among the girls. Her commitment to empowering young women has greatly enhanced learners’ self-esteem and inspired many to dream bigger.

Infrastructure development has also been a key hallmark of her administration. The school environment has undergone a significant facelift through refurbishment projects, including the renovation of the perimeter wall, repainting of classrooms, and improvement of learning spaces. These developments have created a more conducive environment for teaching and learning.
In co-curricular activities, Friends School Kaimosi Girls has continued to shine. The school has increased participation in various sporting disciplines and consistently earned representation at regional and national competitions, showcasing the talents and potential of its learners beyond the classroom.
Recognizing that student welfare is central to academic success, Mrs. Shavisa has strengthened both internal and external security measures to ensure learners study in a safe and secure environment. She has also championed initiatives aimed at improving student mobility, including ongoing efforts to acquire a modern school bus that will support educational trips, competitions, and other school programs.
Her leadership extends to staff welfare as well. Believing that a motivated workforce is key to institutional success, she has fostered a supportive working environment and ensured staff members are facilitated promptly, creating a culture of teamwork, commitment, and productivity.
