He emphasized the importance of proper upbringing, stating that well-disciplined children are never a burden to their parents. He urged parents to embrace religious education as a critical tool in shaping the moral and spiritual future of their children.

Addressing the issue of school fees, Sheikh Abdul Kadir encouraged parents facing financial challenges not to keep children at home, assuring them that the madrasa is willing to support and accommodate such cases.

Jamia Mosque’s spiritual leader, Abdalla Washiali Musa, also appreciated stakeholders for their contributions and spiritual support. He reiterated plans to construct a modern mosque and madrasa to match the town’s growing standards.

“Our current mosque was built many years ago and no longer meets modern needs. We have already formed a committee to oversee the construction of a new facility, and KSh 3 million has been raised so far. Our target is over KSh 10 million, and we call upon all stakeholders to support this initiative,” he said.

Mr. Musa further acknowledged the support of Mumias West MP, Hon. Johnson Naicca, describing him as a key pillar in advancing Muslim community programs. The MP contributed KSh 70,000 towards the ceremony, alongside offering bursaries to Muslim students and supporting infrastructure development in several Muslim-sponsored schools within the constituency.

Kakamega Governor Fernandez Barasa was represented by former MCA Suleiman Odanga. In his message, the Governor pledged continued collaboration with the Muslim community in appreciation of their support.
