Governor Kenneth Maneno Lusaka has announced major interim changes in Bungoma County’s executive team after a court ruling temporarily stopped the dismissal of his entire cabinet.

In a statement issued Saturday, Lusaka said the April 9, 2026 decision to dissolve the cabinet had been made in good faith and in the public interest, aimed at improving efficiency and protecting the integrity of county institutions.
However, the affected officials challenged the move in court. On April 17, the Bungoma Employment and Labour Relations Court suspended the governor’s decision pending final determination.

Lusaka said his administration would respect the court ruling and ensure county services continue uninterrupted.
