AIC Kipkei Kei High School Emerges as an Academic Powerhouse in Trans Nzoia

AIC Kipkei Kei High School in Cherangany Sub-County, Trans Nzoia County, has positioned itself as one of the leading educational institutions in the region following an impressive performance in the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.

The achievement has been attributed to strong leadership and deliberate academic strategies spearheaded by the school’s soft-spoken Chief Principal, Mr Justus Mosiria.

Guided by its vision of becoming a centre of excellence in curriculum and co-curricular implementation in Kenya and beyond, the school posted a commendable mean score of 7.390.

This performance places AIC Kipkei Kei among the top-performing schools in both Cherangany Sub-County and Trans Nzoia County.

The results mark a steady and notable improvement from a mean score of 5.99 (C plain) recorded in 2024, reflecting consistent academic growth. Out of the total candidature, 208 students attained the minimum university entry grade of C+ and above. The top candidate, a boy, scored an impressive A–.

The overall grade distribution comprised one A–, six B+, 26 B, 78 B–, 97 C+, 30 C, and seven C– grades.

Speaking after the release of the results, Mr Mosiria attributed the success to early syllabus coverage, teamwork, committed teachers, disciplined students, and a supportive Board of Management. He further noted that as an AIC-sponsored institution, matters of faith are taken seriously, contributing to the moulding of well-rounded learners.

“Our boys understand the purpose of being here, and that clarity has significantly contributed to the impressive performance. We have also increased contact hours between teachers and learners to enhance effectiveness,” said Mr Mosiria.

The school’s performance has drawn widespread praise from the local community, with residents lauding the principal’s leadership style and commitment to academic excellence.

“There are principals, and then there is Mr Mosiria. His humility is unmatched. He is the darling of the community, and we are ready to support him so that our great school continues to shine,” said Mr Paul Wanyonyi, a boda boda rider from Keikei Centre.

Another resident from Kitale town echoed similar sentiments, noting that students from AIC Kipkei Kei are easily distinguishable due to their high self-esteem, discipline, and conduct. “The principal of that school is doing a very good job,” he remarked.

Beyond academics, AIC Kipkei Kei High School boasts a rich history in co-curricular activities. The school are county champions in volleyball and have been East African champions in lawn tennis since 2018.

Looking ahead, Mr Mosiria expressed optimism about the 2026 candidate class, stating that the school intends to build on the systems already in place. The school is expected to present approximately 230 candidates, with an ambitious mean score target of 8.10.

“We believe this target is achievable. Teachers are already working towards it, and we are confident that the upward trajectory will continue,” Mr Mosiria added.
