Nyang’ori Boys High School in Hamisi Sub-County, Vihiga County has emerged as one of the best performers, following its stellar performance in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) 2024.

The school achieved a mean grade of 7.2618 (B-), with an impressive 62 per cent (197 out of 317) qualifying for direct university entry.

This success has been attributed to the transformative leadership of the school Senior Principal Mr Peter Lunani who has implemented strategic programmes to enhance academic performance.

His focus on motivating teachers and students has fostered a culture of excellence, with high performance in academics and co-curricular activities being recognised and rewarded regularly.

A detailed analysis of the results shows remarkable student achievement, the top boys scored an A- (Minus), 24 scored B+, 36 scored B, and 57 B-. Majority of candidates performed well, securing C+ and C grades, which contributed to the school’s strong overall results.

Beyond academic performance, Mr Lunani has initiated several projects aimed at improving the school’s infrastructure and creating a conducive learning environment.

The principal’s efforts have been widely lauded by parents, teachers, and the community, who credit his leadership with transforming Nyang’ori High School into a centre of excellence.
