Jao Mumias Garments is the leading school uniform distributor and supplies agency that has transformed the lives of many students and schools in the Western Region.

Located in Mumias Town next to Equity Bank Mumias branch, the agency offers high-quality uniforms to a majority of schools in the region, which has made it a trusted venture for a long time.

The agency Director, a former bank and an education enthusiast, Mr Peter Guya avers that just slapping clothes on students can never improve a school but a uniform accompanied by other reforms can make a difference.

“I am personally passionate about quality education and I always believe that a smart student is a confident one,” Mr Guya said.

Besides supplying school uniforms to schools, the agency has been at the forefront of supporting schools whenever an eventuality occurs.

When a dormitory at St Peters High School got burnt last year, the agency through its Director donated school uniforms worth Ksh68,000 to the affected students at zero costs and continues to stand with other education institutions around whenever the need arises.

Speaking to this writer, Moses Maloba from Shibale and a parent at St Peters High School has kind words for the Jao Garments as he was able to get school uniforms from them when his son was joining and made payments later as he was incapacitated at the time.

Another parent, Phassie Mbonne, praised Mr Guya for always being at the forefront of advocating for quality education.

“It is only Guya who can administer punishment to a student in Mumias Town who is found to be in the wrong and the parents will take it positively,” she said.

Guya is doing so much to streamline students in Mumias Town as long as a student is in uniform, Guya can never spare them if involved in any wrongdoing.

The former banker has made his name so big in schools’ circles and a lot continues to happen.
