Good evening, wonderful people.
As we approach Christmas and all the related celebrations, we thank God.

For sure, it was a year full of activities. God has been merciful to us in seeing us through the ups and downs of the year 2022.

To our elected leaders, we say “ahsante” to your respective teams, my specific thanks goes to team FCPA FB, you guys did an amazing job, “barikiweni sana”.

Ladies and gentlemen, it pays to remember that these are passing events. Obviously people have to enjoy and celebrate where possible but it pays to remember these are one or two days’ events and should be viewed in that light.

Let us guide our people that as we spend more time planning for these one or two day affairs, more should be done in planning for our lives, education of our children and economic wellbeing.

This is a normal trend in conscious and enlightened people. Enlightened communities focus on their lives in totality and use the short celebrations as markers.

They do not lose sight of their goals and therefore vision. They focus and make the main/core thing. They never get carried away by these short term distractions. These are the makings of great people.

They celebrate to finish knowing that bills, school fees for their sons and daughters, tenets and sacrifice needed for economic breakthrough do not take holidays.

Friends, ladies and gentlemen, many people who miss the mark in these occasions take too long to recover if they ever do.

Let’s educate our people to keep this in mind as we get to these two days of Christmas and new year festivities.

To our elected leaders, my humble prayer and request is that work together as a team.

Let the interests of Matungu residents pull you ALL together irrespective of your respected political party affiliations.

Take a lesson learned in the just concluded World Cup. Participating Nations drew their team membership from clubs around the globe to form a National team with single and shared goal, to win the World Cup. Chosen team members/ players gave and displayed their best skill in pursuing the shared goal, others paying painful prices – red cards and long term injuries.

Let the success of our people be your shared goal. Let there be medicines in our hospitals, let us have good road networks, water and electricity made available, let us support our security apparatus to check on safety of our people and their properties – insecurity free Matungu. On education, let us support efforts towards improving our standards in all aspects.

It is possible in Matungu, our home Sub County.

Otherwise I am wishing you and your loved ones a happy festive season and prosperous New Year 2023.
