A political storm has erupted in Malava subcounty of Kakamega County following the recent naming of the Cabinet by Governor Fernández Barasa that saw the youth sidelined.

Now the youths and other groups across the subcounty have vowed not to support the governor’s administration but forge a different path that will see new leadership take up Kakamega teaching barasa a political lifetime lesson.

Led by Juma Kona and lawyer Edwin Shivakale, the youths have given Barasa an ultimatum of a week to resolve their issues or they hold demonstrations across the county.

It had been believed that the Voice of Malava patron Lawrence Toli would be named Chief Officer but this did not happen and instead Leah Khasandi and Saidi Khasavuli were named Education Chief Officer and Strategic Political Advisor respectively sending the youths to a political oblivion.

Voice of Malava supporters and team members expressed fury over the governor as they are said to have spent fortunes in ensuring he ascends to the position.

The governor got around 11000 votes in the subcounty a thing that has been interpreted for little consideration as Likuyani got over six appointees.

Efforts to reach Mukoyani for a comment did not bear fruits as insiders say he has not uttered anything over the disappointment.

The soft spoken youth commands a fanatic following across the subcounty and is believed to be the next big thing in the area’s politics.
